Johnstone Gamble & York

Johnstone Gamble and York will be a five piece band playing a varied selection of Classic Rock covers,  not to be missed. We are a band of many years playing experience, who are looking forward to playing for the good people of Lochwinnoch.

This is my 5?th year in music, with very little or no time off for good behaviour. I started in 1965 playing drums in a Tamla Motown band. Moved into folk music which I still love, playing Mandolin and later guitar and tenor banjo, worked with the late great Matt McGinn and Watt Nicol in the early seventies. Then came Fairport Convention and Steeleye Span so we moved more in that direction and so was born The Dead Skunk Band, these were great times for live music. In 1978 I heard pedal steel guitar, and that was the day I sold my soul to the devil, and I have been in love with it ever since.
