A village of culture and heritage at the heart of the Semple Heritage Trail

The Friendly Festival
Clamjamfrie is a lively five piece Scottish ceilidh band formed by musicians from the villages of Kilbarchan and Lochwinnoch in Renfrewshire, Scotland who are equally at home providing music for Scottish ceilidh dancing or songs and tunes for your entertainment.
Our line up includes Mark Adams on fiddle, Allan MacLeod on mandolin and banjo, Karen Sillars on accordion, Joe Logue on guitar and vocals and Jane Fawcett on percussion. Our traditonal blend of celtic instruments is complemented by less conventional percussion incorporating snare, djembe, congas, shakers and triangle. Joe, our vocalist has a wide repertoire of songs which allow the option of a break from the traditional ceilidh dancing and a chance to relax, listen, singalong or partake in some freestyle dancing.
A typical evening of dancing with Clamjamfrie includes a good mix of popular Scottish ceilidh classics as well as an introduction to some of our favourite less well known dances. All dances are expertly guided by Karen, our main dance caller ensuring that everyone feels at ease joining in, particularly if it is their first Scottish ceilidh dance experience. Mark and Jane are also happy to jump on the floor to give a demonstration if needed but if you are experienced dancers we’ll get stuck straight in to the dancing without wasting precious dancing time talking through the steps. If you have specific requests for dances or songs for your event we will happily do our best to accommodate this.
